New Munda? New Board!
A board that’s fun to look at and play on can make all the difference. With the re release of Necromunda we decided it would be a great time to make a new board to go with it.
The goal of this project was to make a new powered 4×4 board. I wanted it to have depth and convey the sense of activity below the surface so it’s configured like a shadow box with room below the playing surface.
The light strips inside are smart LED and bluetooth to my phone and the grate panels on top are light weight but sturdy plastic from the hardware store.
The inside of the board was covered in wood panels the size of a piece of paper so we could move them around if we wanted to and change the look of the scene beneath the playing surface

years of hoarding put to good use
The panels were then primed black and then oversprayed with white. No further painting was needed because all the color would be coming from the LEDs.
Time for some scenery
The scenery was batch painted and is a mix of Sector Mechanicus and Sector Imperialis and was painted to look old and rusty.
